Nonon Padilla was cleaning out old drawers and came upon these two old snapshots. Both of them are of performances of my first staged play, "Hoy, Boyet, Tinatawag Ka Na; Hatinggabi Na'y Natutulog Ka Pa Pala" for the opening year of Dulaang Sibol. I wrote this play at the age of 15, when I was a senior high school student.

It was Nonon Padilla's first directorial assignment. He was 16.

It was my first dancing performance (!).

It was also Barge Ramos's first dancing performance, bwahahahahahahahaha!

Third Part (Kinabukasan) of "Hoy, Boyet". That's me crouching on the floor. Can you sense me thinking, "I will never dance in public again. I will never dance in public again."?

First Part (Kamatayan) of "Hoy, Boyet". Barge Ramos as Death in costume. Had he any inkling at the time that, decades later, he would be a famous barong designer?
